BUSH LODGE
Bush Lodge is set in the heart of the Sabi Sabi bushveld overlooking a water-hole and an African plain. At each of our lodges, you will luxuriate in uncompromising high standards of service, efficiency and personalised attention - all in an informal atmosphere of warmth and hospitality.

Mornings in the bush usually start with a hot cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit before heading out on an early morning game drive. The sun is just coming up and you may be lucky enough to spot the big cats after a night of hunting. You are in Big Five country so the chances of seeing them all during your stay are quite good. Breakfast awaits when you return to the lodge and then the time is yours to relax and enjoy the amenities of the lodge or camp. Game walks are usually offered every day and we recommend taking at least one walk as you get an entirely different perspective of the Bush by foot. Later in the afternoon, you'll head out for your second game drive. Just as the sun begins to set, you'll stop and enjoy a sundowner as you watch the gorgeous African sunset. Then, the tracker turns on the spotlight and your game drive turns into a search for the predators of the night on the prowl. It's always exciting! Your evening ends back at the lodge for dinner and stories over the campfire.

All of our rooms provide immersive comfort from the most unique location in the Kruger National Park: the historic bridge, where the very first visitors to the Park had a pioneering stay within the carriages, following a night of feasting, performance and tales from times long-gone. Kruger Shalati offers opulent accommodation with an elevated perspective - a reminder of the 1920's rail safari, with a contemporary interpretation reflective of the marvel of African design.
Our arrival lounge, reception and dining areas, along with two of our three swimming pools, are found adjacent to the Selati Bridge, overlooking the majestic Sabie River. The river flows all year-round, drawing animals and birds that come to quench their thirst on a daily basis.

Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge
Sabi Sabi was acquired in 1980 and over the ensuing 20 years Sabi Sabi has achieved fame throughout the world as an acclaimed ecotourism operation.
Sabi Sabi's roots are firmly in place and through its philosophy, principles and commitment to the sensitive ecological environment in which it operates, will ensure that it will play a major role in the development of the ecotourism industry over the next decades.
Sabi Sabi's conservation philosophy is based on two principles:
The first is the need to conserve our rapidly dwindling areas and to provide a sanctuary for fauna and flora as part of our heritage.
The second is the belief that the only way a wildlife sanctuary can survive the onslaught of socio-economic pressures is by creating employment, earning foreign currency, paying tax and promoting sustainable tourism. It must be a true example of eco-tourism effectively linking tourism with conservation and the community. Our environmental management system is a holistic one, where the ecological needs are balanced with the needs of people and their communities, i.e. focussing on the interdependence of tourism, conservation and local communities.

In the rural subsistence areas surrounding Sabi Sabi, the ratio of breadwinner to dependant is over 1 to 10. Therefore over 170 Shangaan employees at Sabi Sabi, support over 1700 dependants. These people are directly or indirectly dependant for their livelihood on the success of our enterprise and each and every one of us carries with him that responsibility and pride.
Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve defines eco-tourism as the interdependence of tourism, conservation and local community thereby ensuring the optimum tangible benefit to each of the above.
BUSH LODGE
Bush Lodge is set in the heart of the Sabi Sabi bushveld overlooking a water-hole and an African plain. At each of our lodges, you will luxuriate in uncompromising high standards of service, efficiency and personalised attention - all in an informal atmosphere of warmth and hospitality.
There are 25 suites in Bush Lodge. Each air-conditioned thatched suite features exquisite ethnic dιcor in keeping with the bushveld environment. The lodge features artistically designed open courtyards with spectacular wooden carvings by renowned South African sculptors, created from wood salvaged from the bushveld.

Day 8 Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge | Meals: BLD
Mornings in the bush usually start with a hot cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit before heading out on an early morning game drive. The sun is just coming up and you may be lucky enough to spot the big cats after a night of hunting. You are in Big Five country so the chances of seeing them all during your stay are quite good. Breakfast awaits when you return to the lodge and then the time is yours to relax and enjoy the amenities of the lodge or camp. Game walks are usually offered every day and we recommend taking at least one walk as you get an entirely different perspective of the Bush by foot. Later in the afternoon, you'll head out for your second game drive. Just as the sun begins to set, you'll stop and enjoy a sundowner as you watch the gorgeous African sunset. Then, the tracker turns on the spotlight and your game drive turns into a search for the predators of the night on the prowl. It's always exciting! Your evening ends back at the lodge for dinner and stories over the campfire.
