Day 2  Nairobi | Meals: B
It's a moving start to the day as you visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and learn about the care of the orphaned elephants. The Sanctuary is run by Angela Sheldrick and is set in the grounds of her late mother's, Dame Daphne Sheldrick's, house. During your visit, you have the chance to view the orphaned wildlife and meet the people who handle and care for them. Then continue to the Giraffe Center for a fun and educational encounter with the exquisite Rothschild giraffes. When the center was founded in 1979, only 120 of the Rothschild giraffe remained in Kenya - and they were on the verge of losing their "home" to a subdivision of property. Through careful breeding and reintroduction to the parks, there are about 300 Rothschild giraffes in Kenya today. In fact, you might see them again when you visit Lake Nakuru, one of the four parks in Kenya chosen to have a relocated herd.

Day 7  Lake Nakuru-Masai Mara | Meals: BLD
Your drive takes you into the world-famous Masai Mara today and your luxury camp, set on the banks of the Talek River. Game viewing in the Mara is amazing. You will almost certainly see the Big Five here - can you name them? (They are lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard and rhino.) Did you know that the name "Big Five" is not based on the size of the animals, but rather goes back to the early hunting days, when these five animals were the most prized for hunters?

Tipilikwani Mara Camp

Set on the banks of the Talek River overlooking the Mara plains, Tipilikwani Mara Camp has one of the most spectacular views available. The Maasai Mara is home to the wildebeest migration - one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World - as well as to some of the most abundant wildlife populations in Africa!

The 20 luxury tents lure discerning travellers with the cozy atmosphere and beautiful surroundings they offer. Each en-suite tent is equipped with all amenities and has its own terrace. Two large adjoining tents sharing a common verandah are the ideal setting for families.

The dining and lounge area reflects the ambience of a tented camp, but provides the comfort and protection of a permanent building. The open-sided design affords a unique, magical view across the river to the rolling plains dotted with game. Enjoy an al-fresco breakfast or wind down with a glass of wine at the camp fire watching the spectacular sunset. Elephant, leopard, buffalo, rhino and lion roam free - at ease in a protected, natural environment.

Activities on offer include game drives accompanied by expert local guides, bush walks and hot air ballooning at dawn (at extra cost). Tipilikwani offers an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere for experiencing the full adventure of the African bush

Day 8 & 9  Masai Mara | Meals: BLD
Huge gatherings of plains game like zebra and impala are likely to dot the landscape as you explore on daily morning and afternoon game drives. The keen eyes of your driver-guide will constantly amaze you as he points out a lilac breasted roller in the tree, or a lion taking a nap in the shade of a tree. Your binoculars will come in handy as you focus on searching the horizon for a lion or leopard on the prowl; or following a cheetah as she hones in on her prey. Game viewing in the Masai Mara is always exciting! Enjoy two days here in the Mara.
